Who runs Nica Surf Camp
Nica Surf Camp is part of SYB Travel, the New York crew that started active and social group trips in 2014.
One SoulCycle class. One trip to Costa Rica.
It started in New York in 2014. A few people from my SoulCycle class did not want the friendship to end when the class did, so we went to Costa Rica together. Everyone did everything, and everyone flew home saying the same thing: you have to do this again.
So we did, and it grew the way SoulCycle did: no marketing, just people telling people. No investors either. None of us came from travel, so we built every trip the way we thought it should be done, and along the way we gave it a name: active and social travel. That is SYB.
Since then SYB has taken thousands of people surfing, hiking and sailing around the world, and turned a ridiculous number of strangers into lifelong friends. Playa Maderas has been our home in Nicaragua for about ten years. Nica Surf Camp is the most surf-focused week we run there.
